Application of Electrochemical Techniques to Organic Coatings

ABOUT

The 14th International Workshop ‘’Application of Electrochemical Techniques to Organic Coatings’’ (AETOC 2026) will take place in Douro region, Portugal, from March 23rd to 26th 2026. This workshop has been organized every two years and took place previously in Schliffkopf (Germany, 1999), Jurata (Poland, 2001), Sintra (Portugal, 2003), Villard-De-Lans (France, 2005), Bayona (Spain, 2007), Grado (Italy, 2009), Mons (Belgium, 2011), Emmetten (Switzerland, 2013), Île de Ré (France, 2015), Billerbeck (Germany, 2017) Valencia (Spain, 2019), Cavalese (Italy, 2022) and Egmond aan Zee (The Netherlands, 2024). The workshop has always provided opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas, to establish research relations as well as to find global partners for future collaborations. The language of the workshop will be English. The meeting falls under the auspices of the European Federation of Corrosion – Working Party 14 – Coatings ( EFC event nº541 ) and has the sponsorship of Division 4 of the International Society of Electrochemistry. We sincerely do hope to meet you in the fruitful, inspiring and friendly atmosphere that have always distinguished AETOC from the other scientific conferences.

TOPICS

AETOC workshop is dealing with all the topics related to developments in the application of electrochemical techniques to the study and monitoring of organic coatings, as well as novel hybrid and composite coatings with self-healing and protective properties.

  1. Electrochemical studies of organic coatings;
  2. Electrochemical studies of hybrid (i/o) sol-gel and composite coatings;
  3. Electrochemical studies of surface conversion layers to improve paint adhesion and durability;
  4. Electrochemical characterisation of smart organic layers;
  5. Electrochemical techniques to assess the properties of green and sustainable materials for novel organic coatings;
  6. Service life assessments through electrochemical methods;
  7. Combination of electrochemical techniques to study corrosion inhibitors for paints;
  8. Novel electrochemical methods to study organic coatings;
